Originally from Ohio, Ted spent 20+ years in the Navy. The majority of that time (13 years) was spent with either the Marines or the Army. He first became a Treasurer while on Active Duty where he took over the financial books of the Mess.

On retirement, Ted went to work for a medical device manufacturer in Redmond. With a desire to support to the community, in 1997 he became a volunteer Firefighter with CKF&R. At that time, with children still in CK Schools, he volunteered to be the treasurer of the CKHS Boosters that provided about $8,000 a year in scholarships.

Moving on from there Ted was elected to the board of CKHS Band Boosters (renamed CKHS Music Parents Association) as treasurer. The association fundraisers raised money to pay for the band and choir to tour the country. As a small businessman with gross sales of $800,000, Ted began to learn Quickbooks accounting software. He used this experience to upgrade the accounting package of the CK Fire Fighters Association when he was elected as the treasurer.

After serving in that capacity for several years, he took over as the Finance Chair when the presiding chair retired. Ted is still volunteering with the Fire District and has been promoted to Captain. Ted has been married for 35 years with 4 children and 7 grandchildren, all living in the area.
